Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along - 23 Weeks

Size of the Baby - Reese is more than 11 inches long and weights a little over a pound.  She is about the size of a large mango. - Baby Center

Development Milestones - She is developing blood vessels in her lungs to prepare her for breathing on her own.  Also, she is picking up everyday noises so that they won't startle her once she is finally here.  (Hopefully that means she will be used to Palmer's crazy barking!) - Baby Center

 Best Moment This Week - Picking out her rocker!  I am sure it sounds ridiculous but we are SUPER excited about the La-Z-Boy rocker/recliner we picked out.  It is comfy and tall enough for her tall Daddy!

Doctor's Appointment - We haven't had one this week.  Next Monday is our next appointment.

Movement - Still not feeling her at all.  Hopefully soon...I am beginning to wonder is she is really in there. :-)

Symptoms - Still feeling good.  It is getting harder to get up out of bed but nothing to complain about.

Food Cravings - Gushers.

Sleep - I have started having horrible dreams but other than that I am still sleeping well.

Weight Gain -  21 pounds...holding steady.

What I Miss - Sushi, Sushi, Sushi...a Spicy Tuna Roll crosses my mind at least once a day!

Book of the Week - 'A You're Adorable'... Very cute book, short and all about the alphabet.  

Looking Forward To - Getting her crib!  It took a long time and I am in love with it.

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along - 22 Weeks

Size of the Baby - Our little girl is about 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound.  Reese is also beginning to look like a miniature newborn. - Baby Center

Development Milestones -  She is developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums.  And although her eyes have formed, her irises still lack pigment. - Baby Center

  (I hope they come in blue but we will just have to wait to see.)

Best Moment This Week - New Year's Eve.  It was great to see all our friends and all the big news!  2011 is going to be a very exciting year!

Doctor's Appointment - Nothing new here.  Her heartbeat is 150.

Movement - Still not feeling her at all.  Dr. says I have an 'Anterior Placenta' so it may be a while longer before I get to feel her moving around.  According to the ultrasound she is quite the little acrobat...I am sure we will have our hands full!

Symptoms - Feeling good right now.  Hopefully that lasts!

Food Cravings - Veggies and Fiesta Ranch Dip and French Fries.

Sleep - Other than the fact that I am ALL over the bed I wake Ross up all night, no real complaints.

Weight Gain - 21 pounds

What I Miss - Sushi and Cold Deli Sandwich

Book of the Week - 'You Are My Miracle'... My Mama got us this for Christmas and I cry everytime I have read it to her.  

Looking Forward To - The playroom/spare bedroom being FINISHED and moving on to Reese's nursery!

New Year...New Blog...New Beginnings

As I have said since the beginning of my pregnancy, I am starting to blog.  Finally 22 weeks in I am doing it.  It is hard enough to stay connected to people in town...let alone all of those out of town.  So here is my attempt.  Never have I been very good at keeping in touch so maybe this will help.

Many of you have not yet heard...IT'S A GIRL!  And I am over the top excited...Ross on the other hand is excited but a little concerned about having '2 of me.' (Which is understandable! I am kind of, shall we say alot to handle!)  We decided on a name for a girl long before we were pregnant and Reese Elaine she shall be.

Belly pictures are to come soon...surprisingly we haven't taken any.  But just a preview attached is our very first ultrasound picture.
